take a microscopic vasectomy reversal tour. . .through Dr. Grey's eyes.
Dr. Grey's Micro-Precise vasectomy reversals are "microscopic vasectomy
reversals". The backbone of the procedure is microsurgery. Stated simply, his vasectomy reversals are done using an electronic surgical microscope. Dr. Grey's technique offers a level of precision previously believed to be impossible. There is less inflammation, less scarring, and little post-operative pain. There is also no need for a drain.
Micro-sutures less than half the thickness of a human hair allow precise tissue alignment under a powerful Zeiss OPMI VARIO surgical microscope with internal focus, electronic zoom,
and automated X/Y control. Zeiss produces the best lenses in the world. Each microscope is custom made and imported from Germany.
It's the finest, most exclusive, and most advanced surgical microscope
available anywere in the world.
The procedure is done through one small incision on the front of the scrotum. The stump of each vas deferens is located and dissected back to clean, fresh tissue with micro-scalpels.
Each vas deferens has the diameter of thin spaghetti, but the opening through which the sperm travel is 100 times smaller. Using his Zeiss
microscope, Dr. Grey puts the vas deferens back together in layers with 10-0 micro-sutures.
The first layer attaches the openings. The second approximates the muscle tissue in the walls. The third layer attaches the fibrous and vascular tissue that makes up the outer surfaces.
When the micro-surgical connections are complete, Dr. Grey surrounds each one with a sleeve of fat. This fat, found next to the vas deferens, is sewn around the connections. As healing occurs, blood vessels grow from the fat into these areas adding greater blood supply. This speeds healing and reduces scarring.
Micro-Precise multi-layer, microsurgical technique ensures stability, strength, and prevents leakage. It is also less traumatic and patients have less post-surgical pain.
During surgery, the doctor checks the fluid which comes from the end of each vas under a microscope for the presence of sperm. When the fluid is clear or cloudy, sperm are often present. Thick or pasty fluid makes the presence of living sperm less likely.
Dr. Grey can spontaneously convert any reversal into a vasoepididymostomy (VE) if necessary.

The Micro-Dot vasectomy reversal technique was developed by Dr. Marc
Goldstein of Cornell University. It is a well conceived and accepted
method of microsurgical vasectomy reversal. Those interested in learning
